According to Rod Crawford,
from the Burke Museum at the
University of Washington,
these are Pimoa altioculata. I don't know anything about their life cycle
or habits, but here is an oddity: I hadn't seen any of these outside until the
evening of October 2, 2000, and that night I saw three in close proximity
to each other!
